Welkom in Les Amouroux
Het hoofdhuis is gebouwd rond 1720. Allerlei oude elementen zijn bewaard gebleven, terwijl het huis wel aan alle eisen van deze tijd voldoet. Het ligt helemaal vrij, met spectaculair uitzicht naar alle kanten. De dikke muren zijn van steen en de plafonds hebben (voornamelijk oude) balken. De vloeren in het grote huis zijn van gelakt eiken- en kastanjehout en tegels. Elke kamer heeft karakter.
De gîte is in 2012 gemaakt in een oud bijgebouw en staat dus los van het grote huis, wat de privacy als je er met veel mensen verblijft bevordert.
Er zijn allerlei plekken om lekker buiten te zitten en van alles te doen, bijvoorbeeld genieten van de waanzinnig mooie zonsondergang en van het heerlijke zwembad (11x5 meter), dat rustig ligt ten opzichte van het huis. Het terras aan de oostkant is een bijzondere plek om te ontbijten; aan de westzijde kan je een lange, romantische avond doorbrengen met eten en drinken en genieten van een prachtige zonsondergang.
Het kleine dorpje Lamothe Fénelon is vlakbij, met een middeleeuws kerkje, een restaurant en een klein meer met een soort speeltuin erbij. Vijf kilometer verderop ligt Payrac, met een prima winkel, bakker, apotheek, dokter en drie restaurants. Twee mooie steden (Souillac en Gourdon) liggen op ongeveer vijftien kilometer afstand, met grote supermarkten en alles wat je nodig hebt. De rivier de Dordogne ligt op tien minuten rijden.
Het huis is een prima uitvalsbasis voor allerlei toeristische attracties in de departementen Lot en Dordogne, en het is er, als je een en ander hebt ondernomen, steeds weer heerlijk 'thuiskomen'. Het bevindt zich in een gebied waar het goed wandelen en fietsen is; er zijn verschillende routes en kaarten aanwezig.

Welcome in Les Amouroux
The main house was built as a farm in the first half of the 18th century. The character has been preserved in several details, while all modern comfort is added. The quiet location, set back from a small road in open countryside, with spectacular views in every direction, is overwhelming. The walls are solid stone and ceilings are mainly beamed with ancient oak and poplar. Floors are polished oak or chestnut or tiles.
The adjacent gîte has been renovated in 2012 from an old barn, a few steps away from the main house. This enlarges the privacy, when staying there with larger groups.
The house offers lots of outdoor terrain, to sit and relax, to play all kind of games and sports, and last but not least to enjoy the private swimming pool (36' x 16'). The terrace on the east-side is a wonderful place for breakfast; on the west side you can spend the whole night on the romantic terrace, dining and drinking, and catch a spectacular sunset.
Nearby is the unspoilt village of Lamothe Fénelon, with medieval church and a restaurant, a small lake and children's playground. To Payrac is 4 miles, with a superb village shop, bakery (English speaking), pharmacy, doctor and three restaurants.
Two beautiful towns (Souillac and Gourdon) are at 10 miles with supermarkets and all amenities.
The Dordogne river is a 10 minutes drive and the property is well situated for the major tourist attractions of the Lot and Dordogne region.
And, coming home after a long trip or a walking tour in the hills, you will appreciate the relaxing atmosphere of the property once again.

Les Amouroux is voor alle generaties een heerlijk huis met een authentieke, echt Franse sfeer.
Het is ruim en goed ingericht voor het aangegeven aantal personen, met bijvoorbeeld voldoende stoelen bij de terrassen. Het terrein is prachtig, het uitzicht op het westen fantastisch. We hebben het zwembad intensief gebruikt. De vruchtenbomen en tuin maken het geheel af, we maakten bramen- en pruimenjam en pruimentaart en genoten van de druiven en courgettes. De omgeving is mooi en voldoende afwisselend. Er is voor mensen van alle leeftijden genoeg te doen. Het Zadkine-museum is een echte verrassing. We vierden vakantie op een prachtige plek in een heel fijn huis.

Il s'agit d'une maison traditionnelle joliment aménagée, qui a su conserver tout son cachet. Bien que rénovée avec soin, elle reste très agréable à vivre en famille car elle n'est pas trop sophistiquée ou "figée". L'atmosphère y est chaleureuse. Elle est spacieuse pour le nombre d'occupants. Le jardin est superbe : on se sent vraiment à la campagne, avec de très belles vues. La maison est très bien équipée : jouets, barbecue, cuisine, linge de lit, serviettes, etc. On a l'impression d'être à l'écart, tout en étant proche des commerces, de la rivière et des restaurants.

Soms is alles perfect: een gezellig en compleet ingericht woonhuis en gîte, een heerlijk zwembad, fantastisch weer en een prachtige locatie. In Les Amouroux komt alles samen tot een overheerlijk verblijf. De uitstekende uitrusting op ieder gebied maakte ons verblijf met vijftien personen (acht volwassenen en zeven kids van 2-9 jaar) tot een waar feest. In de omgeving is voor jong en oud veel te beleven zoals bijvoorbeeld een bezoek aan één van “les plus beaux villages de France”, kajakken en zwemmen op en in de Dordogne, wandelen en een bezoek aan pre-historische grotten of locale marktjes. Kortom: een geweldige ervaring!

Dit huis, gelegen in een aantrekkelijke regio, is een prachtig verblijf voor een ruime groep. Sterke punten: de ruimte zowel binnen als buiten en natuurlijk ook de ruim uitgeruste keuken. De werkelijkheid kwam goed overeen met de verwachtingen die we op grond van de website hadden en alles was proper toen we aankwamen. De barbecue is misschien aan vervanging toe maar verder is het verblijf uitstekend bevallen!

Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux dans votre maison. Nous l'avons trouvée extrêmement bien équipée ; elle correspondait en tout point à vos descriptions. Nous avons pris beaucoup de plaisir à visiter les villes et villages des environs et avons même réussi à passer une journée en canoë sur la rivière. Ma sœur a trouvé très utiles les informations que vous aviez laissées concernant les permis de pêche ; merci pour cette attention.

Nous séjournons en famille dans des fermes louées en France depuis de nombreuses années et, à notre avis, celle-ci offrait un excellent rapport qualité-prix et était de loin la mieux équipée, avec une très belle piscine. Rarement avons-nous eu autant d'espace, tout en étant à quelques pas/minutes en voiture des commerces et services du village. Avec des enfants, il est également important que la maison ne soit pas encombrée et difficile à gérer. Nous avons trouvé Amouroux accueillante, sans être surchargée d'objets personnels ou précieux, ce qui nous a permis de nous détendre. C'était formidable d'avoir la table et les chaises des deux côtés de la maison et de pouvoir utiliser le congélateur supplémentaire à la cave, ce qui nous a évité de faire les courses tous les deux jours ! Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié les serviettes de piscine, car c'est un vrai problème avec les restrictions de bagages de plus en plus strictes sur les vols low-cost. De nombreuses informations utiles sur la maison et la région étaient facilement accessibles.

Les Amouroux est une maison charmante pour toutes les générations, avec une ambiance authentique et typiquement française.
Spacieuse et bien meublée pour le nombre de personnes indiqué, elle offre, par exemple, de nombreuses chaises sur les terrasses. Le parc est magnifique et la vue exposée ouest est fantastique. Nous avons pleinement profité de la piscine. Les arbres fruitiers et le jardin complètent ce tableau idyllique ; nous avons préparé de la confiture de mûres et de prunes ainsi qu’une tarte aux prunes, et savouré les raisins et les courgettes. Les environs sont magnifiques et suffisamment variés. Il y a de quoi s’occuper pour tous les âges. Le musée Zadkine est une véritable surprise. Nous avons passé de superbes vacances dans une très belle maison.

Het huis was bij aankomst zeer proper en netjes. De werkelijkheid overtrof de verwachtingen op grond van de foto's, waar bijvoorbeeld de uitgebreide schommel en de trampoline voor kinderen nog niet opstaan. Het verblijf is ons zeer goed bevallen. De twee terrassen aan weerskanten van het huis zijn van grote meerwaarde en het feit dat het omheinde zwembad een heel klein eindje verderop ligt was zeer handig met de kinderen. Het huis heeft voldoende kamers en een apart huisje waardoor iedereen zijn aparte ruimte heeft. De zeer rustige locatie met heel mooi uitzicht is uniek!

“We have been staying in rented farmhouses in France as a family for many years and in our opinion this was one of the best value for money and easily the best equipped with a really lovely pool. Rarely have we had so much space despite being within a short walk/drive to villageshops and amenities. With children it is also important that the property is not cluttered and difficult to manage. We found Amouroux welcoming but not so full of personal/precious items that it was difficult to relax. Wonderful to have the table and chairs both sides of the house and the use of the extra freezer in the cellar so we didn’t have to go shopping every couple of days! Really appreciate the pool towels also as this is a real issue as luggage allowances get lower and lower on cheap flights. Lots of helpful information about the house and area was easily to hand.”

“The house is a traditional house that has been nicely converted, keeping it’s character. While it has been renovated to a good standard it is very easy to be in as a family as it has not been over “done” . It has a nice atmosphere. It is spacious for the number of people. The garden is great – you feel very much in the countryside with lovely views. The pool is well-equipped: toys, BBQ, kitchen, bed-linen, towels etc. It feels remote but isn’t too far from local shops, the river, places to eat.”

“We really enjoyed all the space available, both inside and out. The children - aged 6,4, 3 and 1 - loved to run in the meadow, play with the sports equipment, swim and pick plums for supper. We also picked wild herbs from the meadow for our meals.
The scenery in the area is stunning and we had several good days out to different attractions – Rocamadour, LaCave, the train at Martel, canoeing, Quercyland, Carrenac and more.
The boulangerie and alimentation in Payrac were convenient and welcoming.
Overall we had a very good holiday, and would love to come back again sometime!”
